i admit, like the raptors i got weak first drafts.

Rewind to early 2006, at the Kool Haus. First real concert for myself – and I’m proud to say it was for a Common show. It was also the first I learned about the heavy weed smoking done at concerts (particularly of the hip hop variety) – as well as the tendency for them to [...]

an entry that (almost) isn’t about the olympics.

It is possible. Though fittingly, the idea for this entry originated from my obsession with Olympic TV coverage. But let that be the last time I mention the “O” word, at least in this post anyway.
Sports themes. The anthems for the sporting events we all love. If we’re ever forced to define a sport by [...]

what if the olympics were in toronto?…

I still remember that day. My eyes were glued onto the live televised announcement of which city would host the 2008 summer games. My understanding was it was a two-horse race, between Beijing and Toronto. But for an event that tries its best to separate itself from politics, the decision to hold the games in [...]

one month hiatus: the recap

At the outset of creating this account, the goal was well, daily posts. Clearly, seeing as how my last entry dates back a little over a month, that goal appears to have been a touch optimistic. But hey, maybe I should take a book out of the Olympic men’s Canadian gymnastics team, and be proud [...]

canada’s apple stores not carrying (3g) iphones

News from AppleInsider.com.
Apparently Apple doesn’t want anything to do with the Rogers’ and Fido’s ridiculous contracts and data plans. (No unlimited bandwidth?!?)
The phone will still be available at Rogers and Fido locations.
Sadly, I still wouldn’t be surprised to see line-ups. Nothing can stop the Apply hype machine.
Will you be signing the contract this coming Friday?
I’m [...]

The Canadian Government’s Love Affair with Copyright ©

Other than the iPhone, the Canadian government’s proposed Bill C-61 has been the talk of the town. I guess I realized how much people cared, when I saw that a number of my friends joined the group Stop Bill C-61: Canada’s ‘Balanced’ Approach to Copyright Reform on the Facebook. I’m sure that by the time [...]

Canada gets 3G iPhone.

Watching twitlive.tv stream Steve Job’s keynote (a live stream of a live stream, technology is awesome), and amidst Disney’s Small World theme song, the iPhone is coming to Canada.
Finally? I think so. I mean I know people who’ve gotten their hands on unlocked iPhones, but it looks like Apple’s finally got it together in launching [...]

When YTV was cool.

Channel 23. Every kid I knew growing up in Toronto was tuned on this channel before and after school. “The Breakfast Zone,” and “The Zone” were daily staples in the life of a grade school kid, “The Treehouse” staples for the even younger crowd, or those of us (me) who missed a lot of class. [...]
